In 1498 the Misericórdia Church was built, to which the hospital of the same house was later attached. It has undergone restorations and extensions in the centuries. XVI and XVII, eventually being instituted parish church, dedicated to Santa Maria, upon the destruction by the earthquake of 1755 of the old temple of the parish.
In Lagos.
Building of neoclassical architecture composed by single nave with three collateral chapels and sacristy attached to the left lateral facade. With its front facing the Plaza do Infante, it presents a symmetrical composition, having as central elements superimposed, the entrance door, the balcony window and a niche for the image. The symmetry is reinforced by the two side towers, with steeples. The interior is enriched with retabulística of the second half of the 18th century.
