Aracaju is a municipality and capital of the state of Sergipe, Brazil, modern and quiet, cheerful and hospitable people, which maintains the atmosphere of a calm city, with great vocation to leave those who visit totally at ease. It is located on the coast in the northeast part of the country, about 350 km (217 miles) north of Salvador, being cut by rivers such as Sergipe and Poxim.
Beautiful natural landscapes with extensive beaches, dunes, coconut groves and mangroves surprise by the inviting variety for unforgettable walks.
Although not having the most known beaches in the Northeast, the Santa Luzia Island and urban beaches, such as the Atalaia, which, in compensation, have a variety of walks, infrastructures and prices - even in high season, programs are reasonably cheap.
In the Historic Center, the old buildings, memories of the first decades of the construction of the city, coexist harmoniously with all the modernity that the capital of Sergipe offers.
The city conquers the visitors for being very organized and preserved with clean and tree-lined streets, the city has as main postcard the edge of Atalaia, full of attractions.
Along six kilometers there are kiosks, boardwalks, bicycle paths, sports fields, light sources and an oceanarium that enchants children and adults.
These coastal neighborhoods include squares, soccer fields, volleyball and basketball, residential buildings, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, banks and hotels.
The word fiesta, which so well rhymes with Northeast, finds synonymous in the capital of Sergipe. Held in the second half of June, Forró Caju gathers thousands of tourists who arrive attracted by the largest event in the region.
Typical traditions are also maintained in the historic cities of São Cristóvão and Laranjeiras, less than 30 kilometers from Aracaju and that hold colonial architectural jewels, as well as folkloric festivals. Also on the outskirts of the capital is one of the most beautiful scenery in the state - the Xingó Gorge, scattered on board schooners and catamarans that cut the green waters of the São Francisco River.
If the desire to plunge into a blue sea persists, Mangue Seco - the Bahia village is about a hundred kilometers from Aracaju.
In town the smells of boiled corn and roasted peanuts spreading through the air.
The Catwalk Passarela, a stretch taken by bars and restaurants that serve the best of regional cuisine - seafood, meat from the sun, pirão-de-leite and of course the crab.
The climate is hot and humid, with rainy season from March to August.

In Aracaju the rainy months are between March and August, because the strong wind due to the lower temperatures in the South and Southeast of the country in these months brings several loaded clouds. During this period, the average amount of rainfall exceeds 200 mm per month. Among these months, the most rainy is April, in which it rains about 241 mm.
